Community requests by Fulani Tinubu, seeks the immediate release of Miyetti Allah’s arrested leader

The Fulani community in Nigeria has formally appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the arrest of its leader, Alhaji Abdulohi Bello Bodejo, who is currently in custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

In an open letter signed by Mohammed Tasiu Suleiman, Miyetti’s Advertising Secretary Allah Kautal Hore Cultural Group.

According to the letter, winery was initially arrested on December 9, 2024 by the 177 battalion staff of the Nigerian army in Keffi, Nasarawa state, before being transferred to the Defense Intelligence Agency (Dia) and subsequently to DSS.

The community declared that despite the previous arrests, formal charges had not been filed against him.

A ruling by Judge Mohammed Zubairu of the Superior Court of Territory of the Federal Capital (FCT) on December 30, 2024, declared cellar arrest illegal and ordered its immediate release.

However, Fulani leaders claim that he was arrested on December 31, 2024 and has remained in detention since, in violation of the court’s decision.

The letter pointed to the role of a warehouse in the mobilization of support for the ruler Congress of the Progressive (APC) during the 2023 elections, questioning why a key defender of the Government was being treated in such a way.

He also raised concerns about his health deterioration, noting that he had been previously hospitalized abroad and required urgent medical care.

The Fulani community urged President Tinubu to use his authority to guarantee the immediate and unconditional liberation of the winery, citing the need to defend the rule of law and constitutional democracy.

The letter also referred to the recent arrest of people allegedly involved in a violent incident against a retired general and the seizure of his cattle by the military, questioning why winery was being involved despite his reputation as defender of peace and peace and philanthropist.

The Miyetti Allah group reaffirmed its support for the administration of Tinubu, but warned that the continuous arrest of its leader could lead to a growing discontent within the Fulani community.

They expressed optimism that the establishment of the new Ministry of Development won would address their concerns and asked the president to take quick measures to resolve the matter.

“We hope that the establishment and creation of the Ministry of Development of Livestock bring a positive change.

“The entire Fulani community in Nigeria has confidence in its renewed agenda of hope.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter,” added the statement.
