The man dies after the fire explodes in Arcadia Home

Phoenix (azfamily) – A man died after he was injured in a house fire on Friday morning in the Arcadia area.

Phoenix firefighters responded around 6 am to the fire of the reported house Near Camelback Road and Arcadia Drive. Once the crews arrived, they found strong smoke and flames that spill.

Phoenix Fire’s captain Todd Keller said that a woman and two dogs could escape, but a man was trapped from 10 to 15 feet inside the house.

Firefighters say he didn’t breathe when the crews took him to the hospital in “extremely critical state”, where he later died.

Fire teams remain on the scene interviewing the neighbors. An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire, including where and how it began.

The house was considered a total loss, and a part of the backyard also burned. No firefighter were injured.

The Phoenix Fire community assistance program is currently working with family members and meeting their needs at this time.

Keller says that while the main crossroads are not closed, 48th Street is closed from camelback to Campbell. Indian School Road remains open.
