“I just lost sight of,” says the kayakist in the video while trying to recover his breath. “I could be swimming under me too.”

In a scene that rivals a horror movie, the video filmed by a terrifying Kayaker shows him harassed by a large white shark.

Matthew John Patrick Wells captured the dramatic scene during which the mass shark nothing towards him in waters off the coast of Northland, New Zealand.

“While I caught the kayak for the King of the yellow tail … I was received by a great huge target that followed me curiously for eight minutes,” Wells told Storyful.

“What … Great White! Great White Shark”, Wells are heard saying how the great 4.5 meter white shark (almost 15 feet) shows a “curious and scary interest” in his kayak.

Kayaker row for his life as a great white shark seems to stalk it

A kayakist escaped unharmed after he saw a great white shark while fishing the yellow king. The shark followed him for eight minutes.

The images show that Wells immediately turn the kayak away from the shark, and row in the opposite direction of the fish, which proceeds to follow the kayak with its massive fins on the water.

“I just lost sight of,” Wells says in the video, apparently trying to recover my breath. “I could be swimming under me too.”

‘I am grateful for not having been in the menu’

Wells told Storyful The Shark finally left him unharmed, but he will never forget the experience.

“He was a beautifully scary animal, an apex predator who deserves our utmost respect … I am grateful that he was not in the menu this day.”
