You leave the referee – Owen hits Var on Everton’s penalty claim against the UTD man

The former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen, has criticized VAR for ‘Leaving the referee’ about Everton’s claim in his 2-2 draw of the Premier League with the Red Devils on Saturday.

Everton had two goals halfway, thanks to Beto’s goals and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

In the second half, Bruno Fernandes withdrew one for United before Manuel Ugarte found the network with 10 minutes.

However, David Moyes’s side had a strong claim for a penalty, since both Matthijs of Ligt and Harry Maguire attracted Ashley Young’s shirt before Everton’s defender fell into the penalty chart.

Referee Andy Madley immediately pointed to the place.

But the VAR, Matt Donohue, instructed Madley to review his decision that was later revoked.

Madkey had seen the repetition of the incident on the monitor on the side of the field before making the decision.

However, Owen was not satisfied with Var’s decision.

“They have not seen the right angle, in my opinion,” Owen told Premier League Productions.

“If everything we have seen in real time during the game, if that is the angle that has been given to the referee, then I do not blame the referee to say no.

“But the angle has not been given, you must receive the angle from behind the goal, approached.

“From that angle (the referee was given by Var) it seems an immersion, I agree with the referee, I cannot give a penalty about that evidence.

“The VAR has disappointed the referee, in my opinion there. He has not given him all the different angles you need to form a complete opinion of whether that is a fault or not. “
