Goalkeeper Calvin Pickard begins this afternoon against Washington’s capitals, according to Chief coach Kris Knoblauch.

Pickard, 32, has appeared in 21 games for Edmonton this season, with 14-5-0 with a .901 savings percentage and an average of 2.52 goals against, its second year with the organization.

The oilers come from a 6-3 defeat against the Flyadelfia Flyers on Saturday and are second in the Pacific division with 72 points.
