Egg scandal Compensation sparks claims

The producer of birds of dominant corral of Norway, Norura, is busy addressing compensation claims after having to remove more than 670 tons of eggs in recent weeks. The chickens that put the eggs were fed with excessive additives of vitamin D and grain producer Fellajøpet I was catching the guilt.

“We are handling all consumer statements,” said Norture spokesman John Trygve Tollefsen to the newspaper Dagsavisen This week, but it didn’t have an estimate of how many people were involved. More than 3,700 claims had been handled as of Monday.

They are expected more after consumers are asked to discard the eggs involved in the retirement or return them to the store where they were bought. Fleskjøpet will also need to compensate for egg producers who have lost sales and also needed to kill chickens and chickens that fell when eating too much from the vitamin additive. Consumers who may also have ill can receive additional compensation. Too much vitamin D can cause stomach pain, lack of appetite, headache, dizziness and fatigue.

“This situation has considerable economic consequences, and compensation for consumers is part of that,” said Tollefsen, added that he will also imply an agreement with Fleskjøpet, whose leaders also face lost salary bonds this year.
