8 worst costume designs in the MCU who failed to do the justice of the comics

There was a time when movie studies were terrified to bring comics costumes to the big screen (not looking for more than the X-Men franchise for proof of that). Fortunately, Marvel Studios has changed things.

The study has adapted innumerable costumes of superheroes and supervillano since 2008, so it may be inevitable that not everyone is perfect. In fact, there is a handful who were frankly disappointing and could not do justice to the comics.

In this feature, we are pointing out the costume designs that, ultimately, did not work. Some did poor job by adapting what we have seen on the page and others simply made mistakes in false, which has assured that any person is unlikely to be with love.

The incredible team of conceptual artists and costume designers of Marvel Studios does a really incredible job, so this is not a blow to them. With hundreds of costumes to adapt, some would always be better than others and these are only our least favorites.

To see the costumes we have indicated, simply click on the “next list” buttons below.

8. Fantastic myster

Much has been said about the “mcu -ification” of certain costumes and, if there is a trope that we have had enough, it is how “busy” are certain designs. For the fantastic Lord, that was definitely a problem in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of madness.

The blue and black design looks great in live action, but there is too much of the last color in the arms and on the sides of Reed Richards.

In a nutshell, it is happening too much and, as a result, the design becomes a bit generic. Devils, remove the “4” logo and this could belong to almost any superhero. The Fantastic Four: First Steps It seems to be a great improvement.

7. Thor

Speaking of color, here is an example of too much. We get what Marvel Studios and Taika Waititi were looking for here; This design originates in the comics, of course, but translated into live action, it seemed also goofy.

“But that was the point,” we listen to many of you to cry. In fact, but in a film where Waititi gave to all his most dumb impulses, Thor’s costume was a step too far.

The helmet looked pretty good during its few seconds of screen time, at least, but let’s be honest … This was Thor’s worst MCU costume and a true comedy after his rude gaze in Avengers: Final of the game.

6. Captain Marvel

Was this design most faithful to comics? Absolutely, but something was lost in translation. Carol Danvers’s comic uniform became another rubber suit, losing some iconic elements in the process such as his red girdle.

Avengers: Final of the game It was a little improvement but Wonders As a result, it was too informal with the design and no longer felt like the most powerful superhero of the MCU.

It seems that we still have to see Captain Marvel’s final suit on the screen and that will be the case when Avengers: Doomsday stem. For now, however, we would group all your MCU costumes on this slide.

5. Taskmaster

Look, this is certainly one of those comics designs that is very difficult to adapt to live action. Ultimately, what works on the page does not necessarily translate well into the screen.

Marvel Studios tried to find something that he believed convenient Black widowThe founded tone and … Let’s be sincere, however, this was not a victory in any way, form or form.

He Spider The video game has shown how Taskmaster can adapt faithfully and Black widowThe shot seemed silly like hell. Good heavens* He has made some minor improvements, and we can only expect Tony Masters to appear in something better.

4. Spider-Man (shield suit)

If Marvel Studios would like to give Spider-Man his black suit without going through the Symbiote route, they could surely do better than this. Not only did he fail to hide the fact that this was Spidey, but he did not feel necessary.

Perhaps we would have been more indulgent if that blank circle had presented the badge of the shield; At least that way, I would have had a little more weight. As things are, it is the worst MCU look of Peter Parker … with his black suit in Spider-Man: There is no way home A close second.

Disney has Spidey’s marketing rights, explaining why he has used so many different costumes over the years. This was an action figure that nobody wanted.

3. Captain America

Captain America: Brave New World It has been and disappeared while we wrote this. The film, although in no way the disaster that some would make you believe, was not a victory for Marvel Studios. However, it is Sam Wilson’s costume with which we have the biggest problem.

Well, then Anthony Mackie no longer wanted to use the hood that is a distinctive part of the comics costume of this captain of America. The alone glasses made it look like the hawk in red, white and blue, but what was the deal with the suit itself?

Putting Sam in what was essentially the same costume that Steve Rogers did nothing to help him stand out. The white version was much better, but in a film destined to establish it on CAP, it seemed that the hawk wore his father’s clothes.

2. Hulk

Smart Hulk has been nothing if not divisive and, if Captain America: Brave New World He taught us anything, is that an angry Hulk will always be much more fun to see on the screen.

Super Bruce Banner suit in Avengers: Final of the game I just didn’t click with us. Once again, he is too busy, and although we appreciate the purple splashes, why does he hell need a Hulk to go to the battle with a complete body? Maybe he saved VFX’s costs.

Whatever the case, this is reduced and we expect an important update when Smart Hulk returns in Avengers: Doomsday (and who will lose the stirrups again).

1. Daredevil

This is not a classification, so Daredevil’s place here suggests that its costume design is the worst of all mentioned above. However, it can be the most disappointing of the lot.

The final suit of season 1 was not the best and, when the man without fear returned, subtle improvements were made. In general, black patches, presumably destined to prevent Matt Murdock from carrying a red monkey, have the same negative impact as those of a fantastic myster.

However, that is not the main reason why a place has been won here. You can thank the lack of the iconic “DD” logo of Daredevil for that. Call us petty, but should be in the suit and, like Daredevil: born again Approaches, we hope Marvel Studios intends to do this correctly.
