Democratic senator Michael Bennet is considering a career for the governor.

Multiple sources close to Bennet confirmed CPR News that he is reflecting to run for the highest office in the State in 2026, as the Colorado Sun reported for the first time.

Bennet won the Senate re -election in 2022 with 56 percent of the votes, an improvement of its two previous races, which won with less than 50 percent. He was first appointed for his seat in 2009 by then Governor John Hickenlooper, to replace Ken Salazar, who left to become Secretary of the Interior.
