Jean-Philippe Mateta extended after a horrible injury while Millwall Boots Palace Star In Head goalkeeper

Jean-Philippe Mateta was stretched after a shocking incident that saw his head kicked by Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts.

Crystal Palace organizes Millwall in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon in a southern London fighter.

Roberts was expelled for the challenge after a Var check, which occurred in the eighth minute, after he flew from his goal to try to kick the ball.

But with Mateta carrying the ball, the goalkeeper completely lost the ball and started the Frenchman into the head in a shocking challenge.

Mateta was unconscious on the floor and required immediate medical care with the player for several minutes.

Finally, it was stretched and seemed to require oxygen.

Eddie Nketiah entered her place while it is not clear to what condition is Mateta.

Speaking at the BBC, where the game is transmitted, the former West Ham defender, Matt Upson, said: “Wow. That was a great decision of Liam Roberts.

“Jean-Philippe Mateta is scratched. He does not anticipate that the goalkeeper comes to win this ball.”

Mateta has been in good shape for Palace this season and is its top scorer with 15 in all competitions.

The Eagles will expect a quick recovery of their Talisman striker, although the club has not yet given an update on its condition.

Although no official word from the club has been received, they published a message at the time of the incident on their page X.

The publication said: “Mateta stretches after that terrible challenge.

“We are just behind you, JP.”

The replacement of Mateta, Nketiah, put the ball on the network moments after arriving, but the goal was discarded offside.

Palace continued to take the lead shortly after, with former Tottenham star Japhet Tanganga scoring his own goal.

A cross of Will Hughes was inadvertently diverted to Millwall’s network by the 25 -year -old.

Daniel Muñoz then doubled the leadership only a few minutes later when the Palace took full advantage of his numerical advantage.

Millwall’s star, Luke Cundle, was sacrificed after the sending of Roberts, with the backup goalkeeper Lukas Jensen instead.

This is the first time that the two London clubs face each other from a third round of the FA Cup in 2022.
