The Israeli army killed 16 children in the West Bank since the beginning of 2025: NGO

Ramallah, Palestine

The Israeli army has killed 16 Palestinian children in the West Bank occupied since the beginning of 2025, although “they do not represent a real threat to soldiers,” said an international organization of human rights.

“The fact of not holding Israeli soldiers for their violations against the Palestinians has given them to the green light to continue their actions,” Ayed Abu Eqtaish, director of the Responsibility Program of the Children International Defense Program, told Anadolu Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed Ayed.

Abu Eqtaish said that there is “a growing ease with which Israeli soldiers open fire against Palestinian children, which leads to an increase in the number of those killed or wounded.”

He referred to the case of Ayman Al-Haamouni, a 13-year-old Palestinian who was killed on February 21 in the city of Hebron, southern Bank. Abu Eqtaish clarified that “the child did not represent a threat to soldiers at the time he was shot dead.”

In addition, he stressed that Israeli soldiers “have obstructed the repeated and deliberate ambulances that lead to the injured in recent incidents and have even attacked families of the injured, turning these actions into a systematic military practice.”

On February 10, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the Israeli army has expanded its rules of participation in occupied Bank, which leads to an increase in the number of Palestinian civil deaths.

The newspaper, citing the commanders of the Israeli military unit, informed that the central command of the Israeli army has decided to apply the same rules of commitment used in the Gaza Strip to the West Bank, which allows the murder of any disharmed Palestinian, whether they are suspected of something or not.

In addition, he explained that “the orders made them easier for soldiers to press the trigger at the request of the central command commander Avi Blot.”

The newspaper cited Israeli soldiers who participated in the current military operations in the West Bank saying that Blot allowed them to shoot with the intention of killing the Palestinians without resorting to arrest them.

The soldiers explained that the recent number of deaths of the Palestinians unarmed in the West Bank was “unusual”, attributing it to Blot orders, which allowed them to shoot and kill any Palestinian suspected of planting explosive devices or “manipulating the earth.”

The Israeli army has been carrying out operations in northern Bank since January 21, killing at least 64 people and displacing thousands.

The Palestinian authorities have warned that the continuous military offensive is part of a broader plan of the Benjamin Netanyahu government to annex the West Bank and declare sovereignty over it, which could officially mark the end of the solution of two states.

The raids were the last in the military escalation in the West Bank, where at least 927 Palestinians have been killed and almost 7,000 injured in attacks by the Israeli army and the illegal settlers since the beginning of the attack against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The International Court of Justice declared in July that the occupation of the Palestinian territories of Israel is “illegal”, demanding the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
