What are guard monsters?

Guardian monsters are new in the franchise and are not seen in any other Monster hunter qualification. However, many details about their origins are unknown, but more details about them are probable in future updates. They are artificial constructions created by an ancient advanced civilization in Monster Hunter Wilds. They are variants that, although artificial, mimic the appearance of several powerful monsters characteristic of the franchise.

The guardians were created by the citizens of the civilization of Wyveria, who used them to protect themselves and a relic that called the Dragontorch of dangerous enemies. They have hatching in Wyveria’s ruins and are alone in this place. Guardians do not eat and are also practically immortal, since they do not die of natural causes. They do not reproduce and only need to consume Wyvern milk for their livelihood.

However, some guardians, such as Arkveld, have features that are unusual for others of their kind, such as feeding despite not needing. This suggests that they have changed for several years for unknown reasons.

Guardian monsters have a distinctive appearance. They are darker than regular enemies in the game and have bright purple veins in their bodies.
