Türkiye and Wolf Icehouse opened in East Nashville officially on March 1, with customers aligned by the block before the sandwich was even turned the open sign.

This is the second location of Türkiye and the Wolf for chef Mason Hereford. The first, located in New Orleans, had Andrew Knowlton Poetic by Bon appeit on a green collar sandwich. The writer, who claimed to have been held “drunk in May”, also declared that Türkiye and the best restaurant of Wolf America’s Best New for 2017.

Except that it was not only the influence of mayonnaise. Food and Wine magazine recognized Turkey and the Wolf as one of the most important restaurants in the decade and declared: “This silly place is very excellent.”

The place is very dumb, which is part of what makes it so charming. They may be given a unicorn in a stick instead of a number to mark your table. Your cocktail can reach a glass of Winnie The Pooh, your sandwich on a collectible McDonald’s dish.

The opening menu is small, with additions to come, but for now its order is obvious: obtain that green collar sandwich. It is vaguely as a reluctance with his roasted rye, Russian cherry pepper and smell cheese dressing. There is also a crispy salad and then rich in umami and slow cooked that make this sandwich what it is. And this is a sandwich you need in your life.

And you also do not sleep in that spicy-dulce cabbage salad, with fine slices jalapeños and a coconut milk dressing, fish sauce and sriracha perforated with lime, herbs, tamarind. It is finished with fried garlic and toasted sesame seeds and is simply fantastic.

It’s not like blinking, but still very good is the restaurant wedge salad, which is absolutely covered with garlic condiments from all baggage, blue cheese dressing, fresh dill and crispy pieces of bacon on Iceberg lettuce perfectly cooled. It is perfectly refreshing.

The mother of the restaurant tested Burger, an ode to a mac big, special sauce and everything (which is undoubtedly heavy of Duke), is exactly what you would expect: a messy and dripping hamburger that you want to eat in Turkey and the huge and beautiful space in the open air of the wolf that will surely be full in all time when the weather is heated.

Bologna’s sandwich is huge and is served in roasted white bread with butter. It is texturally fantastic with its card of Iceberg grated, crunchy fries made in the house and fried Bologna, although the hot mustard is sweeter than you would expect.

More additions to the menu are on their way.

You can buy beer next to Bud’s Cube to Bell’s Two-Heart. There are some basic mixed drinks that include a gin and Ford tea with lemon and a bourbon barq and buffalo trace.

There are more frozen drinks that arrive on time for the warmest climate. But for now a French frozen 75 is very refreshing, a sweet ginebra lemon and a bucket of champagne, frozen and mixed.

It is perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon.
