The Democrats promise “back” to Elon Musk in the Supreme Court of the High states of Wisconsin

Madison, Wis. – The Democrats promised on Tuesday “Back” against Elon Musk in the Race for the Control of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, presenting the elections as a referendum about the billionaire advisor of President Donald Trump.

The Wisconsin Democratic Party announced a new effort of $ 1 million to portray April 1 elections as the first opportunity for angry voters to announce their feelings about what the Trump administration has been doing. The effort occurs when musk, the richest person in the world, and other Republican allies have surpassed Democrats to spend with elections just a month away.

Democrats can overcome the disadvantage of funds taking advantage of the “anger” that voters feel while the musk “tear the country,” said the president of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Ben Wikler.

“Let’s recover,” he said.

The race has enormous implications in Swing State Wisconsin, with the majority control of the highest court in the state, since it is expected that problems that will affect abortion and reproductive rights, the strength of the public sector unions, the voting rules and the limits of the district of Congress are expected to face.

But the candidate backed by Democrat, Susan Crawford, and her allies are increasingly trying to nationalize the contest against the candidate backed by Republicans Brad Schimel when focusing on Musk, a main advisor to President Donald Trump.

Crawford, when asked about the democratic effort during an appearance at the Milwaukee Rotary club, said she was “happy that they are compromised and call the Musk campaign.”

“It should be worrying for Wisconsin people that you literally, the richest man in the world is aimed at a state judicial race and tries to dominate air waves with these false attack ads,” said Crawford.

The Republicans and their allies, thanks in large part to Musk, have opened a considerable financing advantage in the race.

The groups that support Schimel have already spent around $ 12.3 million in the race, compared to only $ 2.8 million for Crawford, based on the last count of the Wisconsin democracy campaign, which tracks the cost of the campaign.

Schimel and his allies have spent or reserved around $ 14 million in transmission, cable and satellite television advertising, compared to around $ 13.2 million next to Crawford, according to the adimpact advertisement firm.

America Pac, a group created by Musk, has spent $ 3.2 million on digital ads, makers and canvas to support Schimel in the Supreme Court race. Another group funded by musk, building the future of the United States, has spent more than $ 2 million on television ads attacking Crawford.

The career is expected to be the most expensive judicial election in the history of the United States, exceeding more than $ 51 million spent in the Wisconsin 2023 Supreme Court.

Wikler announced that the State Democratic Party would spend more than $ 1 million on a new effort centered on musk that will include digital ads, advertising fences and municipalities throughout the state. The first City Council is scheduled for Thursday in Sauk County, a swing county that backed Trump in 2016 and 2024, but supported former President Joe Biden in 2020.

The spokesman for the Schimel campaign, Jacob Fischer, said to support Crawford that he received from the multimillion -sized Democratic Philanthropist George Soros and the governor of Illinois JB Pritzker.

“The attempts of Susan Crawford and the Democrats to distract Wisconsin people from their extreme views and the radical billionaires who finance it are a mockery of hypocrisy,” said Fischer.

Wikler said Musk is trying to buy the court seat to eliminate an obstacle to his personal agenda and that of the Trump administration. He cited a lawsuit that Musk’s Electric Car Company, Tesla, filed against the State a few days before a group financed by musk began spending on the race.

The lawsuit, which could end before the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, challenges the decision of the State that blocks Tesla to open dealers.

Schimel, when asked about the lawsuit last week, did not commit to separate if the case reached the court. He said he didn’t know anything about demand and that he would evaluate it as he would with any other case. Crawford has made similar comments on whether it would be put aside in cases involving its donors.

But when asked about Musk’s expense in the race, Schimel denied that he would influence how he would work in the State Supreme Court.

“I don’t have any agenda to be working with anyone,” Schimel said. “I am grateful for our followers, but they are not receiving anything except for the law.”
