Oakland, California. – An Oakland man was accused of postal fraud and tax evasion about his alleged scheme to disappoint a non -profit organization for children where he worked as an executive director and pocketed a donation of the NBA Stephen Curry Superstar, according to federal prosecutors.

Howard Solomon, 38, appeared in the Federal District Court in Oakland on Monday to resign the accusation of a grand jury. He is accused of a postal fraud position and four tax evasion charges so that his alleged scheme disappoints the East Oakland boxing association, said the United States prosecutor’s office for the northern district of California in a statement.

Based on the criminal information presented on February 26, Salomon served as Executive Director of the East Oakland Boxing Association from 2017 to April 2021. The non -profit organization offers internships, tutoring, programming and services, including boxing and coaching lessons, to the children of East Oakland.

Federal prosecutors said Salomon managed daily operations, requested contributions and fundraising, managed and personal program, supervising the budget and finance, and community dissemination for the non -profit organization.

As a signatory of the bank accounts of the East Oakland Boxing Association, he had free access to his bank accounts and debit cards. Solomon supposedly embezzled the money and property of the non -profit organization to pay articles for personal use, including Amazon’s purchases, a vacation rental and a Ford Explorer.

Salomon was also accused of embezzlement and deposition in a personal account, a donation of $ 50,000 made to the East Oakland boxing association.

According to the reports, the donation was given during an appearance in December 2019 by the superstar of Golden State Warriors Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry in the Ellen DeGeneres show for a segment known as “The Best Night of Gifts of Ellen”, during which the couple gave gifts and a donation control of $ 50,000 to the lack of phrases.

The United States prosecutor’s office said Solomon is also responsible for obtaining more federal income tax than what was declared in its federal income tax statements and presenting false income tax statements for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Solomon is expected to appear in the Court on April 9 for a state hearing.
