The man (30) attacked the sex worker and threatened to cut his neck as he demanded reimbursement

A man has been imprisoned for five years after attacking a terrified sex worker, wielded a knife and threatened to “cut her neck” while demanding a refund.

Dylan McMahon (30), from Kilpatrick, Kildan, Monasterevin, Co Kildare, who said he had a lot of respect for women, declared assault guilty causing damage to women “who did not believe he survived” and robbery.

It happened in a house in Ahlone, Co Westmeath, where I had been working on March 26, 2019.

Judge Keenan Johnson sentenced McMahon on Tuesday in the Criminal Court of the Mullingar Circuit.

He pointed out that the victim had been in Ireland for four weeks and Athlone for a day when he had the match with McMahon.

Judge Johnson said she was humiliated and suffered a trauma and had already been exploited and forced to provide a service that, but for her “terrible” circumstances, he would not have been willing to act.

Established a main sentence of nine years for theft; However, by pointing out the statement of guilt, he reduced it to six years with one year suspended for three years.

A three -year concurrent sentence was imposed for the assault.

The court heard that the woman of the Dominican Republic, who since then left Ireland, had been working as an escort to keep her family.

McMahon obtained his number on a website and made the appointment, during which he was attacked.

Although he admitted the charges, he still played parts of the evidence of the Prosecutor’s Office, which resulted in what is known as a Newton audience.

Previously, he told the court through a video link that the woman said she announced on a website and recalled that the defendant arrived and asked to use the bathroom before asking how much she charged.

He accused McMahon of hitting his face and body and said he threw her from his hair in his room before going to the kitchen and returning with a knife.

She agreed with prosecutor Cathal or Braonáin BL that McMahon threatened to cut her neck.

The woman told how she begged her to leave her alone and told her that she had a family, but said she “shrugged” and told him to lend oral sex.

However, the court heard that he maintained a pepper spray can and used it to fight him. She said he brought € 400 to € 600 from her and a clock valued at € 105.

He was still hitting her as she begged her to stop.

Interaminated by the defense, he denied that it was not the Lady McMahon that he hoped to meet.

He was told that he did not want to participate in oral sex with her, and she offered him tablets to obtain an erection, that the victim did not accept.

McMahon told the court that he went to see the escort due to depression and anguish after he separated with his ex -girlfriend.

He said he paid, but he hoped to see a different woman and could not get an erection and that the victim went to get viagra to help him.

McMahon denied having a knife and said that the woman went crazy and sprayed it when she demanded a refund.

He said he had a lot of respect for women and that he would never hit one, but agreed to be guilty of charges. However, he argued that theft was a recovery of the money he had paid.

McMahon said he was sprayed in pepper after he stopped his pants and said: “Can I recover my money?”

He tried to convince the court that the assault occurred while trying to leave his house, but he could barely see and was “almost blind.”

The court heard that he left his phone and wallet at the scene after fleeing, which led to his arrest a day later in an intoxicated state.

Victim’s impact statement

In her victim’s impact statement, the woman opened on how she turned to escort work “to keep my family, including my brother, who had an accident and needed attention.”

The assault left her with facial and body lesions and feel humiliated. She still finds it difficult to sleep.

The father of a McMahon, who suffered an acquired brain injury almost ten years ago, could not explain the injuries of the woman.

The court heard that he suffered from severe anxiety, instability and under mood. His mental health problems had been exasperated by drug and alcohol abuse.
