Erie County Coroner Performs Autopsy on Body Found Near Millcreek Mall

The Millcreek Township Police Department is reviewing missing persons reports to help identify a Body found in serious state of decomposition in Walnut Creek, near Millcreek Shopping Center, on Thursday.

The body was found near a stretch of Walnut Creek that runs behind Elevate Church, near the north end of the mall parking lot. A fisherman said he noticed the body around 10:30 a.m. while walking along the creek bank in search of rainbow trout.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook was conducting the autopsy process Friday and told the Times-News it would take a while because of how serious the body was. The autopsy was scheduled to be completed later Friday.

When Cook spoke to the Times-News on Friday afternoon, he could not yet confirm the victim’s sex.

Det. Mike Inman told the Times-News that there have been no new developments in this case since the discovery of the body.
