The murderer receives prayer for 14 -year -old delay | News

On Thursday, a judge reduced the sentence of a convict for three years as compensation for the 14 years he took his case to trial.

Judge Neil Bathwaite sentenced Janaldo Farrington, 35, to concurrent sentences of 32 years and 22 years for murder and attempt to murder.

Bathwaite said that the sentences of 35 and 25 years were appropriate for the murder and the attempt to murder.

In July 2024, Farrington was convicted of the murder of Terron Albury of December 28, 2009 and the murder attempts of Kennard McSweeney and Alexander McSweeney in a bar in Gregory Town, Eleuthera.

The sentences will enter into force as of the date of their conviction.

Farrington, according to the evidence, had a verbal altercation about access to the bathroom in a bar with Kennard McSweeney that became physical.

McSweeney was prevented from using the men’s bath because Farrington’s girlfriend was there.

When McSweeney suggested that Farrington’s girlfriend use the designated bath, Farrington supposedly took out a knife and began to balance.

Other men, including the deceased, tried to intervene in the dispute and were stabbed.

Janessa Murray was Public Prosecutor James Thompson, appeared for Farrington.
