Heavy rains are forecast that can lead to sudden floods that will take place around parts of the southeast of Queensland during Thursday. It is likely that six -hour rain totals between 60 and 110 mm and the rain totals are probable between 80 and 180 mm. Locally intense rains that can lead to dangerous and potentially mortal sudden floods can develop over southeast parts as the tropical cyclone Alfred touches earth on Thursday or early Friday. Six -hour rain totals between 200 and 250 mm and 24 -hour totals between 300 and 400 mm are possible on the southern side of the system. These figures depend on the movement and position of the system. It is likely that harmful winds with an average of 60 to 65 km/h with maximum bursts of 120 km/h will be developed along the coastal and island stripes of the southeast of Queensland on Wednesday. These conditions can be extended further to the north and on parts of the interior from Wednesday night or early Thursday. Destructive wind bursts up to 155 km/h can develop around the Locations of the Coast and the islands exposed near and south of the system on Thursday or early Friday.
